Peter and Mary Jane debate the pros and cons of accepting Mephisto's deal to trade May Parker's life for their marriage. Eventually, they do accept, with conditions. As a result, Peter's secret identity has become secret once more, so the world at large no longer knows who is under the mask. Also, neither Peter nor Mary Jane will have any memory of their married lives, because no part of human history remembers the existence of the marriage. Finally, Mary Jane laid out one further condition not revealed to either Peter or the reader. Once the deal is complete, we see a glimpse of Peter's new life, in which he still lives with Aunt May in his childhood home, and he attends a surprise party for Harry Osborn, who has just returned from rehab (where the parties really suck.) It's clear that Peter and Mary Jane know each other, though they both remember some unrevealed event that he doesn't think she'll ever forgive him for.
